We have been home since Friday and have enjoyed a
very relaxing and uplifting weekend. We’ve
enjoyed good conversation with Erik and a delicious steak dinner. I had a great time on Saturday morning with
grandson Dylan J. We went to Waffle
House (doesn’t get much better than that!) and enjoyed a great breakfast and
good conversation. These Saturday
morning breakfast excursions could become a regular event!
We met with several
friends and enjoyed great conversation and laughter about life and
circumstances. And, of course, on Sunday
we were in church and listened to great words from Pastor Andy about hope and
keeping our eyes on things unseen. The
discussion time in our Connections Class (Sunday School for adults) was
excellent as usual!
I
jumped the gun on National Cheeseburger Day (NCD). I thought it was yesterday but my son and my
nephew both saw fit to set me straight!! Thank
you my young padawans!! But, who
really cares if it's NCD or not?! Any excuse to eat a good
cheeseburger. No, I don’t need an excuse
to eat a cheeseburger. Quite possibly my
favorite food in the world!
And
now, it’s time to prepare for week three.
I’m experiencing some mouth soreness which was foretold by my
doctors. I’m experiencing xerostomia
(dry mouth) and my taste buds are feeling the effects. Some foods taste really bad. Sad to say (facetious marks) soda tastes
horrible, so that’s out of the diet.
Still keeping my positive attitude that God will sustain me through
these treatments and I will not have to endure too much.
On that comment, a thought: Which is the greater testimony? If we ask God to deliver us from harm or hurt
and He does? Or, if we persist in our
faith and positive confession in spite of the harm or hurt? Any thoughts?
I am saddened
though. If you know me at all, you know
I love my swimming pool in the backyard.
Unfortunately, the doctors have prudently advised that I stay out of the
pool due to the feeding tube (I guess I agree it’s probably a pretty good
idea! Although, I was thinking of
Saran-wrapping my belly so I could jump in!).
And Muggy is militant about me not getting wet!!
I know the thoughts and
prayers are making a difference in our situation and I wish to humbly thank
each and every one of you for them.
Thanks for reading! And thanks to the many who have positively
commented about the blog! It is very
therapeutic for me; and efficient. It’s
the best method for me to keep many informed.
And Frank told me this is the first blog he’s ever read or commented
on!! Share the blog with others if you’d
like.
Blessings!
Try club soda with a squeeze or lime or lemon, or, if carbonation is the problem, do the same with water. Have you thought about Saran wrap, duct tape and a wet suit ;-) Your positive attitude is great. Remember to PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens). Keep on keepin' on, my friend, or as Google translate says Продолжайте Keepin, мой друг
